1. Place any job postings that interest you wherever you find them.

On a desk by the window, an orange record sits on a turntable. Several records, including a red Wilco record jacket, are stacked in front of it, and a small black device sits in the back right.
Keeping the things you love close at hand—that's the kind of feeling that Membo 's Favorites feature comes close to.

When browsing band member recruitment notices, you sometimes come across postings that pique your interest, even if you're not immediately ready to apply. The recruitment message might be to your liking, the location might be within commuting distance, but you simply don't have the time today. In such cases, even if you try to remember it, you often forget which recruitment it was the next day.

Membo has a favorites feature for saving those things you find interesting. A bookmark-shaped icon appears on the screen; pressing it saves the item, and pressing it again removes it. All your saved items are compiled on your My Page, where you can review them anytime.

This article is a continuation of the previous article on how to find band members on Membo . In the previous article, when introducing the four filtering buttons, the "Favorites" button was mentioned only briefly, with the detailed usage left to the on-screen instructions. This article clarifies what can be saved in Favorites, where to press it, where to review it, and how to remove items.

This document is limited to what can be gleaned from the screen and program behavior of the publicly released version as of October 1, 2026. The screen item names are written exactly as they appear. Anything that could not be gleaned or that was not observed through actual execution is summarized in Chapter 14.

2. You can add four types to your favorites.

Membo 's My Page has a "Favorites" section, which is divided into the following four categories:

Item names in Favorites What gets saved
Recruitment Member recruitment post
Music Spot Music venues such as studios and live music venues
Music & Video Posts of music and videos
Playlist Posts of playlists

If you only consider band member recruitment, you might think "favorites" means saving recruitment posts, but in reality, it's not limited to member recruitment. You can also use the same favorites feature to save things like studios and live venues, or songs, videos, and playlists posted by other people. Finding members, finding places to practice and perform, listening to other people's music—several aspects of band activities are brought together in one favorites feature.

3. Which screen and where to press

The location of the "Favorites" button varies depending on the screen. The table below summarizes them together with the screen names listed in the footer menu.

Screen (Footer Name) Things that can be saved Place to press
Recruit Members Recruitment Each job posting in the list has a bookmark-shaped icon. There is also a button of the same shape at the top of the job posting details screen.
Explore Info Recruitment Bookmark-shaped icon next to each item in the list of search results
Connect Locally Music Spot Icons for each item in the spot list. There are also buttons in the information window for spots on the map.
Record & Share Music & Video, Playlist Bookmark-shaped icon on each card

The icon shape is consistent across all screens, resembling a bookmark. When it hasn't been saved yet, it's displayed as just an outline; when saved, it's filled in. You can tell at a glance whether it's saved or not by its shape.

The Membo footer menu has six options: "Recruit Members," "Explore Info," "Connect Locally," "Record & Share," "My Page," and "Home." You can save from any of the four options on the left, and you can review what you saved using the fifth option, "My Page" (the sixth is "Home"). A complete explanation of how to use the screen can also be found on the help page and in the user guide .

4. Save from the job posting details screen.

When you open the job details screen, you'll find a bookmark-shaped button in the area at the top where the buttons are lined up.

When you press it, the icon will spin while you're holding it down, and once saving is complete, it will change to a filled-in bookmark. At the same time, a message saying "Added to bookmarks" will appear on the screen. When you remove it, a message saying "Removed from bookmarks" will appear. The message says "bookmarks," but the location where it is saved is "Favorites" on your My Page, and it has the same function.

When you open the details screen, it automatically checks whether the job posting has already been saved, and if it has, it will be displayed with a filled-in area from the start. Even if you've forgotten whether you've saved it before, you can find out by opening the details screen.

Whether you press the icon on the list screen or the button on the details screen, the items are saved to the same location. If you're browsing the list and think, "I'll keep this," press the button right then and there. If you want to read the contents carefully before deciding, open the details screen and press the button there. It's up to your preference which method you use.

5. You can also add job postings collected from other sites to your favorites.

On a dark stage, illuminated by blue and purple lights, a person with an electric guitar stands on the left, a person in the center faces a keyboard, and a long-haired person stands in front of a microphone at the back right. In the foreground are rows of heads, the backs of which are those of the audience.
Postings that caught your eye — ones you'll want to look back on slowly, later.

As noted in the previous article , the list of job postings on Membo includes both postings directly to Membo and postings collected from other job sites. So, can job postings collected from other sites be added to Favorites as well?

Judging from the program code on the screen, it is possible. No processing was found that differentiates between the list icons and the buttons on the details screen based on whether the recruitment was collected from another site or not. The server-side processing that handles saving simply receives the recruitment number and the name of the source table and saves it; there are no conditions written to filter out recruitment collected from other sites.

However, the entire process of saving a job posting collected from another site and seeing it appear on the My Page list has not actually been observed from start to finish. All this article can say is that, in terms of the mechanism, saving them is possible.

The mindset you should have when saving is the same as what was written in the previous article. The collected job postings are copies of the information from the original sites, and they disappear from the list in about 90 days, and sometimes the job postings have already ended on the original site before then. Adding something to your favorites and the fact that the job posting is still active are two different things. If you want to apply for a saved job posting, open the original page by clicking "Visit Source Site" on the details screen, check the status of the posting, and then contact them. The application process is in Chapter 5 of the previous article .

6. Save music spots

On the "Connect Locally" screen, you can view music venues in a list and on a map. Each venue on this screen also has a bookmark-shaped icon. Pressing it saves the spot, and pressing it again removes it.

The information window that opens when you tap a spot on the map also has a bookmark-style button. The button's description is "Add to Favorites" before saving and "Remove from Favorites" after saving. When you tap it from the information window, the message "⭐ Added to favorites!" appears, and the icon in the list changes accordingly. The message when you remove it is "Removed from favorites."

Finding a studio or live venue every time you want to practice or perform can be a hassle. If you save a few places that seem convenient, you can show them some options when you discuss "where should we rehearse?" after the band members have been decided. How to find a place is summarized in the article on how to find studios and live venues nationwide .

7. Save "Music & Video" and "Playlist"

A white cassette tape is placed diagonally against an orange background, and the brown magnetic tape that has emerged from it is unraveling and spreading out in a circular pattern.
Music, videos, and playlists are also included in the same favorites list.

The "Record & Share" screen displays "Everyone's Music," "Everyone's Videos," and "Playlists." Both the music and video cards, as well as the playlist cards, have a bookmark-shaped icon. When you save them, they will be added to the "Music & Video" and "Playlist" sections of your Favorites on your My Page, respectively.

When you find songs by other bands that are similar in sound to the atmosphere you're aiming for, saving them can serve as material to show potential band members, "This is the kind of sound I want to play." How to respond when invited to join a band is covered in the article on being invited to join a band , and how to align the band's musical style is covered in the article on how to avoid conflicts due to differences in musical style .

8. View your saved items in a list -- "Favorites" on My Page

To review your saved items, go to "My Page" in the footer of Membo . When you open My Page, you'll see three toggles at the top: "Messages," "Favorites," and "Profile." If you select "Favorites," the following four toggles will appear.

  • Recruitment
  • Music Spot
  • Music & Video
  • Playlist

When you open your favorites, the first thing you'll see is "Recruitment." To see other types, press the switch button. Each time you switch, your saved items will be loaded in their most recent state.

When you open a type of item that you haven't saved yet, it will say "No favorites yet," and below that, instructions on how to save will appear. For example, for "Recruitment," it will say, "You can add favorites by clicking the save button on post details."

Tapping on a saved job posting will open the details screen for that posting. From here, you can perform the same actions as you did while searching, such as going back to the original page by clicking "Visit Source Site."

The "Favorites" section on your My Page only displays items you have saved. The process of retrieving the list of saved items is limited to the logged-in user.

9. Narrow down to your favorites only

As your saved items increase, you'll want to see only the saved items in the list. Filtering options are available on each screen for this purpose.

screen How to narrow down your search
Recruit Members Pressing the "Favorites" button among the four filtering buttons will switch to displaying only favorites. Pressing it again will return to the original view. Pressing the checkmark inside the button will deselect it.
Explore Info Pressing the "Type" button opens a panel from the side. Inside the panel is a "Favorites" checkbox with the note, "Combine with the types above to filter." Check the box and press "Apply." You can reset the conditions with "Clear."
Connect Locally At the end of the row of buttons for selecting the type of spot, there is a "Favorites" button. When you press it, only saved spots will be displayed.

As mentioned in the previous article , on the "Recruit Members" screen, there is a "Favorites" button on the left of the first row of four buttons. This button acts as a toggle switch to display only the recruitment posts you have saved.

On the "Explore Info" screen, you can further refine the results by filtering by "Type" and then by "Favorites." As noted in the panel, "Favorites" is used in combination with "Type." For example, if you select a type and then check "Favorites," only the saved items of that type will remain.

The "favorites" filter is treated as one of the search criteria, along with other filters such as Prefecture, Posted Period, and keywords. You should be able to filter by something like "Saved postings from my prefecture that were released this month." However, this combination has not actually been run and its results have not been seen, so it is written as "should be."

The concepts behind the filtering buttons and keyword search are explained in chapters 8 and 9 of the previous article .

10. When removing

There are two ways to remove it.

  1. Press the same icon (button) you used to save it again : The filled bookmark will revert to just an outline, and the save will be undone.
  2. On your My Page, tap the icon in the "Favorites" list : A confirmation message "Remove this favorite?" will appear. If you accept, the item will be removed from your favorites, displaying "Removed from favorites," and disappear from the list.

Both functions work using the same mechanism as when you first saved an item. If you press the button again on an item that's already saved, the save record is deleted. It's not simply "hidden"; the save record itself is erased. If you want to add it back to your favorites, you'll have to start the saving process all over again.

The confirmation message that appears in the My Page list is likely intended to prevent users from accidentally clicking and deleting items within the list. However, this is just a guess based on the system's design, and there has been no official explanation of its purpose.

11. Login is required. Guests cannot use this service.

Membo has a guest mode that allows you to browse the screen without logging in. Favorites are not available in guest mode. The following actions require authentication when you are a guest, as listed in the screen settings:

  • My Page (also known as the footer icon or the hamburger menu item)
  • Filter button for "Favorites" in "Recruit Members."
  • Favorites icons in each recruitment list
  • Bookmark button on the job posting details screen
  • Favorites icon for music spots on the "Connect Locally" screen
  • An entry point to "Record & Share" (e.g., the icon in the footer)

If you press these buttons while a guest, it will be treated as requiring you to log in. However, the appearance differs depending on the screen. The "Filter by Favorites" checkbox on the "Explore Info" screen will not be displayed while a guest is present. On the other hand, the "Favorites" button on the "Recruit Members" screen will remain displayed, and pressing it will prompt you to log in. If you want to save or review items, please log in first. Basic usage instructions, including how to log in, can be found on the help page . If you want to open it from the home screen like an app, the app usage page is also helpful.

12. How to use Favorites

That concludes the explanation of the features. From here on, this article covers how to use it effectively and ways of thinking about its use. This is not based on observations of actual usage, but is reasoning drawn from how the features are designed.

Use this as a temporary "storage area" for your search. When looking at member recruitment posts, if you look at too many at once, you'll lose track of which ones were good. Initially, browse without narrowing your search too much, and bookmark anything that catches your eye. Once you've finished looking at everything, use the "Favorites" button to narrow it down to only the ones you've saved, and then reread them. This two-step process separates the viewing process from the selection process.

Before applying, decide on the order in which to check the original sites. Job postings gathered from other sites may have already closed on their original sites. Making it a habit to check the status of the original page each time you revisit a saved job posting will reduce the number of applications that don't receive a response. How to read job postings is explained in the article on how to read job postings , and how to broaden your search when there are few suitable postings is explained in the article on the order in which to loosen member recruitment conditions .

This feature is also useful after the members have been decided. Once the members are decided, the next step is to find a studio to practice in and a live music venue to perform at. If you save locations on the "Connect Locally" screen, you can use them to discuss with the members. How to clean up recruitment posts after the members have been decided is covered in the article about what to do after the members have been decided . Closing your own recruitment posts is a separate task from saving them to your favorites.

It can also be used by those who want to join a band. If you're the one who wants to join a band, you can save the recruitment posts of bands you're interested in, prepare your self-introduction, and then apply. You can find tips on how to write a self-introduction in the article for people who want to join a band .

13. How to save items other than your favorites, and the differences between them.

Saving interesting job postings isn't limited to just adding them to your favorites. Let's look at other ways to save postings and how they differ from Membo 's favorites feature.

  • Browser bookmarks : You can easily save page addresses. However, to sort them by type, as you can on My Page for recruitment posts, music spots, and so on, you'll need to create folders yourself.
  • Notes and Spreadsheets : This is a way to manually record addresses and key points of job postings. You can freely add anything you notice, but updates are also manual. The collected job postings disappear from the list after about 90 days, so keeping a record of the key points you want to remember will serve as a clue later.
  • Features of the original posting site : You can open the original page by clicking "Visit Source Site" on the details screen. Saving functions may vary depending on the site, so please check each site individually. Checking the original page is the most reliable way to confirm if the job posting is still active.

Save function of other recruitment sites

Do other sites also have a feature to save posts you're interested in? Only those whose wording could be confirmed on each site's own page are listed.

site Things that could be confirmed on the public page
Jimoty The page explaining how to use the Favorites feature states that it's "a function that allows you to save posts you're interested in and easily revisit them later." Saving is as simple as "pressing the '★ Favorite' mark on the page of the post you're interested in," and you can revisit them in the "Favorites tab" on the My Page and TOP page in the app, and on the My Page in the browser version.
OURSOUNDS Each post displayed on the homepage has menus for "Report," "Favorite," "Message," and "Profile." No page explaining the favorites system could be found in the help section or elsewhere.

In the case of Membo , saved items can be viewed again from the "Favorites" section of your My Page, and are divided into four categories: "Recruitment," "Music Spot," "Music & Video," and "Playlist." Login is required to use it. For other sites, whether they have any saving functions, or what content is available beyond those listed in this table, has not been checked, so if you are interested, please check the respective site pages.

Favorites allows you to save and review items all within Membo . However, you need to log in to use it. You don't have to stick to just one feature; you can combine them according to your needs.

14. What this article does not cover

The following points are not covered because no definitive answer could be found from the on-screen text or program.

  • If I add someone to my favorites, will the person who posted the job posting be notified, or will they be able to see it?
  • Maximum number of items you can save to your favorites
  • Detailed rules for sorting order of saved lists
  • How will job postings collected from other sites appear in my favorites list after they disappear after about 90 days?
  • Is the Favorites filter included in "Saved Search Filters" (the star button on the search screen)?
  • How many job postings saved in Favorites are displayed in the "Recruitment" section of your My Page? Reading the program code, it appears to retrieve the 10 most recently updated postings, but this is just a guess. How the 11th and subsequent postings are displayed has not been checked.

No action that notifies the other party was found in the processing for saving or removing items from favorites. However, since the range that could be checked was limited, it cannot be said definitively that notifications are not sent. All that can be said is that this could not be confirmed.

15. Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is it true that only recruitment posts can be saved as favorites in Membo ?

No. You can save four types of items: "Recruitment," "Music Spot," "Music & Video," and "Playlist." These four categories will be displayed separately in the "Favorites" section of your My Page.

Q. Can I add job postings collected from other sites to my favorites?

In theory, it is possible. No process that would prevent users from adding job postings collected from other sites to their favorites was found, either on the screen or the server side. However, how they appear in the list after saving them has not actually been observed from start to finish. Even if you save them, there's no guarantee that the job posting is still available on the original site, so please check the situation by opening the original page via "Visit Source Site" before applying.

Q. Where can I open to review my favorites?

Open "My Page" in the footer and select "Favorites" from the toggle at the top. Inside, you will find four toggles: "Recruitment," "Music Spot," "Music & Video," and "Playlist."

Q. How do I remove something from my favorites?

Press the same bookmark-shaped icon (button) you used to save it again. When you remove it from your My Page list, a confirmation message will appear asking, "Remove this favorite?" Removing it will delete the record of your save.

Q. Can I use my favorites without logging in?

It's not available. As a guest, both your My Page and your favorites icons require login. When you press the "Recruit Members" favorites filter button, a login prompt will appear. On the "Explore Info" screen, the option to filter by favorites itself is not displayed as a guest.

Q. Is it possible to display only my favorites in a list?

Yes, you can. On the "Recruit Members" screen, press the "Favorites" button in the filtering options. On the "Explore Info" screen, check the "Favorites" checkbox in the "Type" panel and press "Apply." On the "Connect Locally" screen, press the "Favorites" button at the end of the row of spot type buttons.

Q. Are "bookmarks" and "Favorites" different functions?

They are the same function. The message displayed when you press the button on the details screen uses the word "bookmark," but the saved location is "Favorites" on your My Page. Only the name differs depending on the screen; the icon shape is the same.

Q. Will the other party be notified if I save it?

This article does not cover it, because enough certainty could not be established to write about it. It is as explained in Chapter 14.

16. Summary | Click if you find it, and review it on My Page.

This article summarizes how to use the Favorites feature of Membo , focusing on screen display and functionality.

  1. The four types of Favorites are: "Recruitment," "Music Spot," "Music & Video," and "Playlist."
  2. To save, press the bookmark-shaped icon : it can be found on the "Recruit Members," "Explore Info," "Connect Locally," and "Record & Share" screens, as well as on the recruitment details screen. If it's filled in, it's already saved.
  3. Job postings collected from other sites can be saved in the system ; however, this does not guarantee that the postings are still active on the original sites.
  4. To review them, go to "Favorites" on your My Page : Choose the type using the four toggles.
  5. You can also display only your favorites : the "Favorites" button in the "Recruit Members" section, the checkbox in the "Type" panel in the "Explore Info" section, and the "Favorites" button in the "Connect Locally" section.
  6. To remove it, press it again : the saved record itself will be erased.
  7. Login required : Not available as a guest.
